Hi,
I worked with the Olimex AVR-USB for several month now. Everything worked perfect. Since I installed AVR studio 4.13 + Servicepack 1, I cannot start debug sessions within AVR studio anymore.
When downloading a program onto the target device, AVR studio stops after 95% of the job with the message:“JTAG ICE Could not set ‘timers running’ parameter. Unable to continue connect sequence”.
Subsequently, the connection to the USB-JTAG cannot be restored. I have to close AVR studio, disconnect the USB-JTAG from USB, afterwards to connect it again and to restart AVR studio.
Nevertheless,
-
The JTAG ICE (Olimex) is recognized by AVR-studio
-
Downloading of programs, reading of fuses, etc. works perfect (toolbar - “AVR icon”)
-
AVR studio did no update of the Olimex USB-JTAG
-
When trying to start an update manually (menu tools-AVRprog) I get the message: “No supported board found”
-
Yes, the USB-JTAG has external power supply on pin 4 and 7
-
The USB-JTAG is not recognized by IAR workbench whereas the original atmel JTAG-ICE is recognized
-
The hardware of the target is ok, since I can debug it in AVR studio and in IAR workbench, when connected to the atmel JTAG ICE
8 ) After the update of AVR Studio the atmel JTAG ICE did an update of its firmware, whereas Olimex USB-JTAG did not (and also refuses to do so with AVRprog; see above)
- In order to faciliate the manual update I set the fuse BOOTRST (which was not set in the original state) in the Olimex- USB JTAG. Nevertheless, AVRprog states: no supported board found.
The Olimex USB-JTAG is about two years old. It has the suffix “L”
Any idea? The analysis has taken hours, and I have no further ideas how to proceed.
Thanks a lot in advance.
