Hi guys.
I have a question about whether or not I can “pair” 1 bluetooth device to two bluetooth receivers. (USB dongles in this case)
Here is the situation.
I have a BT barcode scanner that needs to talk to two PC’s simultaneously. The scanner is only transmitting data and the PC’s are only receiving the scanned data. Can I pair one scanner to two devices at the same time WITHOUT having to modify firmware?
The PC’s are on separate networks with different software and changing their software to exchange data isn’t going to be possible at this time.
BT scanner
to
BT Dongle->PC1
BT Dongle->PC2
I’d rather not modify firmware so that an end user can use any off the shelf hardware.
Failing that,
my other idea would be to pair the scanner to a BT module, then send serial data to two uc’s and then convert to USB HID. Id have to build this and I’m trying to keep thing as simple as possible.
BT scanner → BT Dongle → serial → serial to USB HID1 + serial to USB HID2
Thanks a bunch!
