OpenScale gives weight 0

Hello there!

I connected a Openscale (SEN-1326) with a LoadCell (SEN-14729 ) attached to it to my computer. Using the Arduino App I can connect it very well and I can see it’s measurements in the serial monitor. I’m able to change settings and calibrate. I get accurate temperature readings, however I only get 0.00 for the load. Rewired many times and tested different sensors - none of it worked, I still always get 0.00 for the load.

I noticed that sometimes when I unplug the wiring to the open scale the measurement changes its sign form 0.00 to -0.00 or vice versa… so it seams to have some connection.

I’m not familiar with the OpenScale but have played with some load cells.

So as to rule out a faulty jumper or breadboard, have you wired the load cell directly to the terminals?

Are you getting at least a couple volts DC across the excitation terminals?

Similarly, is there a change in the millivolt signal across those terminals when the cell is loaded?
