Openscale Tare values off

Hi all,

I am trying to get the openscale working with my raspberry pi 3 and I have connected it to 4 50kg load cells connected in a Wheatstone bridge and when I try to tare the scale to 0 it gives me a very large negative number causing calibration to be 0. I was wondering if anyone here had any idea as to why that was? If it could be hardware or connection issues. I have connected the openscale via usb to my rpi. The connections from the scale to the openscale should be correct so assuming they are, what else could it be?

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble!

Can you post a photo showing your connections?

Yeah, here is how the scales are connected to each other and to the openscale, in which the openscale is connected to a rpi via usb. More images are in the imgur link.

I can’t quite tell where all your red wires are going, but check the attached picture and make sure each sensors red wire goes to the terminal on the Open Scale that’s indicated in the picture.

Also, where you join the sensors black and white wires, you might need to solder those. I once tried using connectors and the tiny amount of resistance in the connectors was enough to cause me all sorts of grief in calibrating things.
