PCB to PCB Connector

Hi, I am looking for a suitable connector that would allow me to place two PCBs side by side on my desk and then push them together. A through-hole right-angle type is probably my best bet. Surface mount would be OK if it attaches to one side of the PCB only. Can anyone please recommend a suitable connector? My wishlist:

  • compact

  • male and female versions

  • eight - 10 connectors

  • widely available

  • low cost

I’ve thought about 9-pin D-type (DB9) but I would like something smaller as I want to make a daisy chain of very small PCBs (so each PCB will have one male and one female connector).

Thanks, Andy

Use 2x5 rectangular shrouded headers/receptacles.

Take your pick.

The Valcon ones are cheap, readily available from most suppliers and all

work well.

However, beware about plugging unshrouded ones in out of order (1-2, 2-3, 3-4 etc).
