Depends on what you call a pH sendor. The device that actually measures the pH of a liquid (usually) is called a pH probe. The output of a pH probe is a millivot signal with a very high impedance. So a pH probe also needs a special amplifier of some sort.
You can get pH probes on eBay for under $20. You can build the special amplifier using CMOS op-amps.
