I am looking to use an external latching switch to power on/off my portability shield (DEV-27510), since the board will be in an enclosure. I have determined that jumping the VBAT and 5V pins powers on the board. Is this the same task that the onboard power switch performs? If not, what is the best way to achieve my goal?
Yep…although it’s an “or” situation, not “and” (you only need one positive power wire hooked up)
Leave the stock switch ‘on’ and wire 5v to 5v and ground to GND, with your new switch in-line with the 5v wire
You could also de-solder the stock switch and simply extend it with 2 wires as well
