Postcard Battery Charging Question

Postcard Battery Charging Question

I’ve installed a portability protector and an 18650 battery on the postcard. This battery doesn’t have its own charging circuit.
Does the portability protector have its own voltage-controlled charging circuit?
That is, when the 18650 battery is charged, will the portability protector circuit stop sending current to the battery?

This is listed in the specs section on the product page for the portability shield:

MCP73831T Single Cell LiPo Charge IC
Charge Rate Set to ~500mA

Thanks, that’s clear about the charging current.
But my question is whether the portability shield cuts off the charging current when the battery is full. This is to protect the battery’s health.
Thank you.

The charger IC will stop supplying current to the battery when it is fully charged.
