Postcard lg290p firmware update instructions no good

why do they keep referring to “system menu” there is no such thing in QGNSS

when I enter a command in QGNSS like for checking version, nothing happens, I just get the data stream

HEY SpARKFUN, your fimware update instructions are useless, why not take them down so people don’t waste time

you can’t even check the firmware version of this thing, it’s ridiculous. QGNSS does nothing when you enter commands, what a clugy nightmare this has all turned out to be, I’ve been working with arduino esp32 for years what a nightmare.

I have downloaed the latest firmware V5
I have use the firmware update in QGNSS
I pick the firmware file,
i hit the go button
i hit the reboot button
I get the message flash upgrade failed.

it says synchronize failed, why?
what is wrong with this thing, it’s just a firmware upgrade, what apos

NOTHING works with this device, nothing, it’s just one dead end after another

What are they talking about here??

eset the LG290P. From the main menu navigate to System ‘s’->Hardware ‘h’->LG290P reset for firmware update ‘13’. This will reset the LG290P and allow the bootlader to begin. If more than 20 seconds have gone by, restart the upgrade process in QGNSS and then reset the LG290P again.

Hi Steve,

Your posts continue to be hostile. Please take a breath and review your posts before submitting. You will get a lot more help asking for help, rather than denigrating.

The Postcard runs firmware on the ESP32. In order to put the LG290P into the correct mode to update the firmware, you have to go through the ESP32’s System Menu to do so.

Here are the instructions to get the LG290P into the update mode. These instructions for Configuring with Serial should help you connect to the ESP32 and open a terminal connection.

If there is a step that does not make sense, please feel free to ask for help. If this is all too much, feel free to start a return. I’m happy to work with you either way.

I appreciate users trying to help but I’m looking for support from sparkfun.
sparkfun maintains that their support staff man this message board.

BTW…

The answer to this question is you must

FIRST…hit the reboot button

THEN…hit the go button on the firmware upgrade window.

THEN you get a successful firmware update.

like i said,

sparkfun your instructions are no good, takem down

Ahhh Steve, @Sparky IS SparkFun, he’s as SparkFun as you can get. He’s trying to help and you’re not making it any easier.
