Powering Beefy 3 FTDI from battery

Hi, I have a Beefy 3 FTDI Basic Breakout board paired with the WiFi IR Blaster.

I would like to power this setup from a battery which only needs to last a few days at a time.

Can anyone point me in the right direction for what battery I should use and what I need to connect the battery to the board?

Remove the Beefy 3 from your board and attach a 3 cell (4.5 volt) battery holder to the VIN and GND pads on the board.

Not sure how long 3 AA batteries would last, if not long enough, switch to 3 C or 3 D cells.
