Powering up EM 408 or 406

Hey guys,

I’ve been trying to power up the 408 by connecting them with some combination of 3.3V zener diodes and resistors - with a 5V regulator… (the zeners keep it at 3.3V)

Anyways,

my question is

How do you determine the resistor values as to how to power the thing up?

the manual says that the RX of 408 is supposed to connected to a 3.3V zener + 470 ohms…

However, the 406 says nothing.

The last time i tried to connect the 408, I think i accidentally sent something wrong into the RX of it, and now it gives me rubbis output. I bought 2 extra receivers, and I hope I dont blow them up or short circuit them.

So if you guys know how I can connect up a circuit that could power up the thing, that would be really helpful!

Don’t know about the 408. The 406 is supposed to run on between 4.5V and 5.5V if I recall correctly (The spec is in the manual). I run mine with a voltage booster from 3.3V to 5V, then plug the 5V straight into power.

Im just wondering, do you mind posting up a circuit of what it looks like?

I have tried using a 7805 and just connect things normally, but it didn;t quite work out. So if you have a circuit of what it looks like, i would greatly appreciate it
