Pro Mini connect problem

I can only connect my ProMini (clone) via the UNO. If I try using a USB adapter I get the message:

avrdude: stk500_recv(): programmer is not responding

avrdude: stk500_getsync() attempt 7 of 10: not in sync: resp=0x00

I am using a Macbook Pro.

Any ideas?

I regret to say that we only provide Support on authentic SparkFun products. I cannot guarantee the functionality of a clone or other brand of Arduino Pro Mini boards as components such as the Atmega328 itself could be counterfeit, removed and re-used from and for other products, and there may not have been any quality control associated with the product.

I highly recommend that you consider using the SparkFun Pro Mini board if you prefer a reliable product that uses authentic parts and goes through a quality control process. Our products also come with technical support as well.
