Hello all,
I’ve been using the LPC-H2888 board for quite a while now, programming it using the USB DFU method. Recently I got a new computer, and I tried to reinstall the DFU drivers from Philips, but in vain. I’m using Windows XP, and when I connect the board (setup for “USB download”) the system either reports that “USB device was not recognized”, or it finds an “unknown device” that is succesfully installed (!), I can see it in the device manager, but I can’t do anything with it (I tried updating its drivers to the MDFU drivers, it didn’t work). But the board DOES work, the firmware that was programmed in the flash before this works just fine. Anybody experienced a similar problem?
Thanks,
Bogdan Marinescu
Well, I tried to use the board on three different computers, with three different cables, and nothing works. I’m on Linux now, and after entering the “USB download” mode the “lsusb” command shows nothing, which indicates that most probably there’s a hardware problem somewhere. I also checked if the USB connector is properly soldered to the board, and it seems that it is, I checked it with a multimeter and with an USB cable plugged in, measuring at the other end of the USB cable on one side and directly on the PCB on the other side.
To the guys at Olimex: I know you’re reading this board, and I expect some answers from you. I’m willing to forget that you didn’t even include a switch to enable “USB download” mode on this board (a huge, silly omission that forced me to build a “mini-motherboard” just to add this switch, becuase it turns out that it’s pretty important to actually be able to program the firmware in your MCU), and I could even understand the fact that you don’t have the best customer support in the world, but this is a bit too much for me. I payed good bucks for a board that I can only use as furniture now, because OpenOCD doesn’t yet support LPC2888, and I don’t have access to other kind of tools. Any help would be appreciated.
