Problem with Qwiic MP3 Trigger

Hi,

i’ve tried to play some sounds with the example code in “Example3-PlayFile.ino” which is part of the “SparkFun_Qwiic_MP3_Trigger_Arduino_Library”. But unfortunatly getSongCount() gives back a value of ‘0’. I’ve tried several uSD cards, all formatted to FAT32 and working perfectly with the integrated SD-Card reader of the MP3 trigger. The soundfiles are from your github “Qwiic_MP3_Trigger-master\SoundFX”.

I’ve also get a step back and tried to use the trigger ports of the board. Qwiic connectors are not connected, SD-Card is plugged in, the board is powered (Voltage: 5 V, Current: 53.1 mA) and a 8 Ohm (2 W) speaker is connected. When I now shorten any trigger port with GND, measured current is getting down to approx. 43 mA and no sound is getting played.

Do you have any idea what is wrong? Does I make any mistake?

Looking forward for your assistance.

Best wishes

andbe

Where are you connecting 5 volts?

To the USB-C Port. But after resoldering the amp chip with hot air, the module plays sounds now…

Good that it’s working for you. Was worried you connected 5 volts to the 3.3 volt pin, that would have done some bad things.
