I bought a redboard turbo that doesn’t want to program. When I plug it in it doesn’t show up as a com port nor as a circuitpython disk. If I double-click the reset button to put it in bootloader mode then it will show up as both. Programming with arduino then succeeds, but when the board reboots it doesn’t run the program (using the “blink” sample), nor does it show as a com port. I also tried loading the latest circuitpython uf2 on it and that also seems to succeed, but when the board reboots it doesn’t show up as a disk. This is on macos 14.4.1. The only way I can seem to get my computer to see this board or do anything is in bootloader mode.
That board has a few quirks, but I’m guessing you’ve already followed this RedBoard Turbo Hookup Guide - SparkFun Learn
Is the cable/port known-good? Do you by chance have a PC you can test with? Sometimes Mac is picky about what goes on in their usb ports
Thanks for your reply. I have read the hookup guide and installed the needed arduino libraries, etc. I’m generally very familiar with the UF2/samd process via another company’s boards but I am trying out sparkfun for the first time in a while. The cable/port are known good - they work in bootloader mode with this board and I use this cable/port often with other devices.
Hello. Just wondering if there are any other troubleshooting steps or if I should return this board. Thanks!
I got your email; return/replacement through amazon is the next move
