Reference Station as an NTRIP client for local grid alignment

Hi,

This might be the simplest question ever.

I want to align my ref station to the local grid. The simplest way I can think of to do this is to connect the ref station as a ntrip client and get the ECEF coordinates of the station. ( I will be given a commercial temp password for testing).

With the ECEF I can then set the ref station up as a caster.

Question: When I set the ref station as a ntrip client how do I get the ECEF coordinates from the command line and verify RTK Fix? or how else can i do this?

Thank
Stephen

Hi,

To get the ECEF coordinates of your reference station via the command line, connect to the NTRIP caster using a tool like RTKLIB. Check the output or receiver status for the ECEF coordinates. Verify RTK Fix by ensuring the status shows “FIX.” Consult your NTRIP client’s documentation for specific command details.

Hi Jack,

Not what I expected as an answer but I will try it, I thought I could just add the commercial NTRIP setting into the NTRIP Client settings (Tera Term) and once it is fixed (verify by looking at the front LCD display for the accuracy of .014). Then somehow get the ECEF location of the antenna again via “tera term”.

RTKLIB looks interesting and a bit complicated, but the tutorial may help me, I have used RTKLIB in the past just for processing the logs to submit for CPRS-PPP nothing more. I will need to look how to connect RTKLIB running on my laptop to the Ref Station. RTKNAVI looks like what I may need.

Would setting up the Ref Station as an ntrip client and a caster (at the same time) to RTK2GO also give me the correct Position in ECEF via the mount point status report +/- 1.4cm?

Thanks
Stephen
