regarding the SparkFun Servo Trigger. .. controlling 3 steps...

I have read with interest the info posted regarding the SparkFun Servo Trigger.

From what I understand, with this unit, I could control 2 positions on a servo.

My problem is to control 3 positions of a servo, in order to activate this set from Faller:

https://www.faller.de/gb/en/Products/Tr … d4534.html

It comes with a servo control that can activate 2 steps in normal mode and 4 steps in DCC. I would like to avoid to use the DCC (Digitrax train control).

What could I use as a simple solution to control 3 steps with a simple control unit, similar to the SparkFun servo trigger?

I am not at all an expert in electronics or servos,…

Help appreciated…

Thanks & Regards

Hi bidochon.

Unfortunately there is no way to get the Servo Trigger to have 3 positions. The hardware is hard coded to only work in 2 positions and short of a complete redesign, that can not be changed.

You could write a bit of software for an Arduino that does this though and control a servo with that. You’d just need to figure out experimentally what servo angles to use in your code to line the tracks up.
