I would like to build a remote sprinkler like this http://www.amazon.com/Guardener-A201-2- … 004VNDX9C/. I know how to build the circuit with my Arduino uno and a 2 channel relay, but I’m looking for ideas on what sort of pump I can use to get the pressure needed to trigger the sprinkler head (standard from big box home repair store).
[Flojet pumps are pretty good, but at $60, probably more than you want to spend for this application.
You can get a 12V windshield washer pump from a parts store for around $20, but I doubt that it will have the required pressure to open that valve since household water pressure is 35-60 psi.
I have a couple of DC pumps that I haven’t listed for sale yet that will definitely produce the pressure you need (I know they will do 100psi), but I think they’re all 24V pumps. PM me if you want to try one.](Amazon.com)
At this point, I am building a proof of concept device so price isn’t really a big factor to me because I know that once I know if this will work, I can source the materials much cheaper. The water that I will be spraying is not for drinking and is not going on a garden or anything so any pump will work. 24v may be troublesome since I’m trying to keep it all within a 12v spectrum. The stream of water just needs to be strong enough to scare predators away. I likely do not need anything as big as a sprinkler head to create a strong enough stream of water.
OK, I thought you were trying to take that device you linked to and feed it pressurized water. If you want to make one from scratch, then a windshield washer pump will probably be fine since you won’t even need a valve. What distance do you want to squirt?

Actually, for DIY, I would seriously consider a cheap electric water gun. My kids had one that would shoot 20’+ and it was like $10 at Walgreen’s.
