Remote solution for boat hoist

I live on a lake. My boat hoist has an electric motor that is powered by the boat’s onboard battery. There is a toggle switch on the hoist that I lift up or down. I want to have a key fob control the switch from my house (150 ft. away) but I have no idea how to do this. Hold one button on a key fob and the hoist travels up. Hold a different button on the fob and the hoist travels down. Any ideas?

I wish SFE had an easy solution for you.

Look at the long range hand-held rf transmiter in the upper left corner of the page.

I think that is what you want for the “fob”. They pretty much have all the pieces and it shouldn’t cost too much ($60 all in, I would guess).

They do have a 4 channel relay receiver that might work - it’s $60 by itself. http://www.rentron.com/Linx/RELAY_MOD.htm

In that case, it’s pretty plug and play but more costly. They have lots of tutorial info as well.

I can see that you already have the remote control transmitter to the hoist to your boat. You can use it from your house away from your boat but add more trips away from where your house is and it will not work. Try to scan the buttons or experiment on different combination from it and see what will work as you wish.
