I’d like to replace the 32khz watch crystal on my MSP-P1232M board with an 8MHz crystal. Aside from changing the software, is there any problem with doing this? And will I have to change the parallel caps on the board? Thanks.

You need to put the capacitors acording to the cristal you gonna use.
This processor doesn’t have the XTAL2 pin that you can use?

also concider that you need a higher Vcc! I think for a 8Mhz you need 3.6V

That’s right, TI said that in the MSP430 manual.
