Resistor question

This should be an easy question: Does it matter where the resistor is placed when connecting to an LED?

I am working with my inventors kit and I’m not sure if the resistor goes before or after the light, ie. connected to the + or - leg.

Perhaps it doesn’t make a difference, but I’d like to know.

It does not matter. The current is the same everywhere in a series connection.
