Retirement of Point Perfect MQTT Service and replacement PointPerfect NTRIP Service

I have the SparkFun RTK Torch (Original)

Is there any official statement, service bulletin on the retirement of Point Perfect MQTT service and it’s replacement NTRIP service? In another thread I tested with the new service and it worked in my woods, mountains and valleys with very obscured sky. I am canceling my MQTT Service as it was unfortunately not working in my terrain conditions.

BTW had to work with Maria in Sales & Support to get the double billing finally corrected, only to conclude MQTT won’t work for me.

I don’t see PointPerfect NTRIP as a service I can sign up for on SparkFun product page other than the $300 LBAND which is marked Discontinued

?

This is the page I bookmarked :

Thanks – I wonder why SEARCH didn’t return that result…. Thanks found it for my “Original old Torch”

And the new PointPerfect NTRIP ($15 a month) is significantly better in my woods, hills and valleys than the old service!!!

Good point. I’m checking to see if we can fix that.

Annoyingly, u-blox doesn’t do this? It’s usually via an email the current users.

Glad to hear it! That’s our experience as well. All new users are registered under PointPerfect NTRIP Flex. In September, when MQTT is discontinued, we will move all previous MQTT users to the NTRIP Flex service.

Now the only other “Shopping Cart” feature that would be nice for infrequent Torch users is the option to buy 3 months of service, and have it end… then in 9 months, buy 3 more months service and have it end…. I know $15 a month isn’t much but when I use it for 2-3 months and not the other 9 months…. $15 is a lot for no use. I know I may be the “odd” Torch user, but if there were a way to make the transaction easy for SparkFun, to buy a “block of time 3 months for say $55” vs a subscription for $15 months, for 12 months…. Just a customer suggestion….
