Hi kalzenith,
I was googling RFID Rings today and came upon your post. I, too, am interested in developing a prototype that solves a common problem I face everyday: scanning my SmartCard on the Metro in DC. Every day I have to reach back into my coat pocket or back pocket, pull out my wallet, get the card out, scan, etc, and less than a second later just put it back into my pocket. It’s a huge traffic build up for any transportation system- I use my smart card for bus, metro, etc. If there was a fashionable ring I could wear that would a) solve the problem by just dashing my hand over the sensor, b) look great- would people want it?
You’re suggesting the ring could be a fashion accessory programmable for a number of things, right? Please share more. To your point- creating the technology that allows a user to enable the ring for MANY purposes…i.e. an app or service that configs the ring for multiple purposes-that’s what people would want. Of course, to build a product that seamlessly complements the technology is HUGE as well.
Let’s chat,
Chris
