Currently I am working on a project where I am trying to create an rfid wristband. I was wondering if any of you know if the tag will still read being in a silicone wristband? The wristband would be no thicker than an inch max. The tag and antenna I’m using are both from SparkFun. This is the tag: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/14147 and this is the antenna: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/14131. I’ll appreciate any help immensely!
Hi ConnectEDSolutions,
Embedding the tag in silicone should not create much, if any, interference. The largest source of interference would be the person the wristband is on. We explain this in a bit more detail in the [Range Test Example section of the Simultaneous RFID Reader’s Hookup Guide.](https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/simultaneous-rfid-tag-reader-hookup-guide/example-10---range-test)
