"RFID Starter Kit" OR "Arduino + Reader ID12/Breakout"?

Hello!

I’m totally noob with Arduino and I got an opportunity to prototype a project using Arduino.  :D. I need to create a RFID reader and send the ID through USB (in the future wireless/lan/bluetooth).

I’m also beginner with electronic and soldering stuff. I’m a programmer!!!

I found the [RFID Starter kit, I think that it’s perfect for me, I can develop my project with it very well. But I want to learn more about Arduino and in the future attach other connections (wireless/lan/bluetooth) to my project. I think might would be better to buy the [Arduino kit + [Reader ID12 and [Breakout board instead of the RFID kit.

I want to know if I can create a RFID reader only with Arduino kit + Reader ID12 and Breakout or If I need something else.

Another important question for me is if it’s easy to create a reader with separately components. I’m beginner I don’t want to buy the kit and burn it. It will be so frustrating.

You’re best bet is to go with the [RFID Evaluation Shield + the [Arduino Uno. If you want to wait for the Arduino Starter kit to come back in stock, you can do that as well.

That ought to allow you to use an Arduino for future expansion, keep the price down, and allow you to experiment without killing expensive components.](http://www.sparkfun.com/products/9950)](SparkFun RFID Evaluation Shield - 13.56MHz - DEV-10406 - SparkFun Electronics)

Hi UNTEngineer, tks for your reply.

Unfortunately, I already bought another kit.

I thought that it would be easy for an Arduino beginner.

Maybe in the future, I will buy a new one with NFC capabilities.

ah ok. Well good luck with your project.
