I used to use the RN-171 with my Samsung Galaxy S3 phones hotspot in OPEN mode for testing. Then I discovered that
set wlan auth 4 //needed for WPA2-PSK on android S3 smartphone
set wlan join 1 //join the AP that matches the stored SSID & passkey
would let me use WPA2. Emboldened I then tried to access the WPA2 hotspot on the ipad mini but no joy. In fact the WiFly only identifies the ipad hotspot on 1 in 3 SCANs on average. Anybody had any luck with Apple hotspots/tethers.
