RTK LED never lights up on surveyor

Hello,

Updated firmware with U-center to the release from Dec 2025. I connect with bluetooth via swmaps. I can see the GPS unit and I can draw a decent line by walking around with the GPS. Only problem is that it is only ~30cm accuracy. The RTK light is never illuminated. Just bought unit out of the box. I have android.

Are there other settings I was supposed to change? Everything works, but only 30cm accuracy with no RTK connection.

Thank you

Have you set it up to receive correction data?

I signed up for Emlid and created an NTRIP client Rover. I can log in, connect, but still no RTK light. There is no username for base so I can’t connect that way.

I would even be happy to set up the surveyor in Base mode and leave it for 30 min if that is possible, but I still can’t get past 30cm accuracy.

Darn. Give the temporary base setup a try Setting up a Rover Base RTK System - SparkFun Learn

(just as an aside that link is from here Creating a Permanent Base - SparkFun RTK Product Manual)

I’m unsure if emlid is a proprietary format or not :-/ Do you have any way to verify the credentials work otherwise? (test with emlid device?)

I went through the steps on “Setting up a temporary base” and configured it exactly like the tutorial said in u-connect and now it is even worse when the red base LED stays lit at 94 cm. I don’t mind leaving it in one spot for 30 min, but now it is getting worse.

And when I connect the NTRIP on SW Maps, online Emlid says 1/10 rovers connected.

But now another problem. Whenever I save the configuration on u-connect, then restart the device, none of the settings are saved. Saving to BBR, FLash, I2C, and SPI. None of the settings save after power cycle.

Are you using u-center? It’s not advised unless testing :-/ Configure with u-center - SparkFun RTK Product Manual

Serial is the most robust method Configure with Serial - SparkFun RTK Product Manual - make sure to fully back out/exit all menus after changing settings to save! The guide covers it pretty well
