I am having the same issue.
The reset button does not appear to do anything at all.
I double-checked that the USB cables works - an Arduino feather using the same cable works fine.
The SAMD21 appears to be unresponsive - help!

julianrace,
Was this before or after uploading a program?
After. I tried uploading a basic example from your site (Lora Client code)
https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/sp … 1589216464
After upload, the board is now unresponsive.
If it helps, using Mac OS 10.15.4 with Arduino IDE 1.8.13
Do you happen to remember the settings before programming?
It was fresh out of the box
My apologies, I was referencing the Arduino settings.
In the IDE I have the board set to “Sparkfun SAMD21 Pro RF”
The port was set to the usb serial port that came up when I first plugged in the ProRF (which is now not showing up)
Can you try closing out of the IDE and unplugging the Pro RF. Plug the Pro RF back in and hit the reset button twice to kick it into bootloader mode. Open the IDE back up and see if the board has a valid port.
I’ve tried that several times now. The board doesn’t seem to want to go into bootloader mode. I’ve tried super quick double press of the reset button, slow double press, very slow double press and and still nothing - the board doesn’t respond. Here’s the USB devices my Mac sees:

SAMD21 PRO RF UNRESPONSIVE AFTER UPLOAD of ttn-apb
After double click I can see the serial port, after programming there no serial port, the USB shows the port failed
Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)
ttn_abp_node_hello_world instead of the lorawan ttn_abp fixed this problem, the trick was SerialUSB instead of Serial
@sobellinni – Your insightful post ponied me to the right direction, Spark Fun is sharing a defective example with the board manager published to the IDE. I got the example you mentioned from GitHub and all is well! Thank you
@SparkFun staff - kindly address this repetitive issue with the examples! It would save others the same hassle!
