I have activated the SIM that comes with the kit and SPAM the AT+CONNECT command and keep replying with ERR14 2 UNABLE TO CONNECT. Other than that, my PC also can’t communicate with the dev kit after switching from the update tool to the ESP32 module.
Im using AWS IoT ExpressLink SARA-R5 Starter Kit V2
Are the LEDs on the board/processor lighting up when plugged in?
On the SARA R5 Sara On, 3.3V and V in LEDs are on and the indicator on update tool module is on but when I changed to ESP32 module the indicator on ESP32 is very dim and is not detected but PC
It might be worth inspecting the Micromod slot area/interface and ensure that there aren’t and bent/mis-soldered pins or something else awry…do both processor have the chamfered 45 degree edge on the pin-side (to make sliding it in easier)?
Attached here with the physical apearance. I dont see any bend on the board and on MicroMod Board Side I don’t think its M.2 port Issue because PC can detect the COM port with Update Tool but not ESP32
The chamfer looks good
To be clear, when in-use you affix the screw to hold the processor in-place as well, right?
Yes, both screw and unscrew don’t work
It sounds like a defective processor - Was it purchased from us? If so head over to Returns - SparkFun Electronics (contact vendor if purchased elsewhere) and we’ll get ya squared away
