I’m new to this and leading some students through some basic electronics coursework. We are using some SparkFun boards and I always encourage them to understand the schematics. A student asked, and I couldn’t answer, “what does 1.?? And 2.?? on a schematic mean?” As it often the case, I just became the student, Ha! We’ve only noticed them on what appear to be global net labels. Although, it is clear what connections are being made, I wasn’t sure, nor could I quickly find what specifically the 1.??, 2.?? etc. mean. Thoughts?
Hi mickeyb.
It sounds like you’re looking at a multi page schematic and the CAD software we use crates those labels to tell you where a net or connection crosses over to another page.
A good example of this would be on the [Tsunami schematic where the SDA and SCL lines on the ATSAMS70N20A-AN on page one extend down to the AK4618VQ on page 2. The “1.” and “2.” indicate what page of the schematic those reappear on.
Hope this helps, and if you have other questions, just let us know!](https://cdn.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Widgets/Tsunami_Super_WAV_Trigger.pdf)
Thanks so much!
