SIK For Arduino Uno Experiment Guide

Hi. As far as I can tell, all the documentation for this kit references SparkFun’s Red Board vs. the Arduino Uno. Is it safe to assume that the differences between these two products don’t come into play during this kit’s experiments?

Exactly correct. The SparkFun RedBoard is our version of the Uno R3. The pinout between the two is identical and you can interchange either the Uno or RedBoard for any of the experiments in the Inventor’s Kit. There are a few component differences, most importantly the FTDI USB-to-Serial chip on the RedBoard, that requires some extra steps during installation in some cases but otherwise, the Uno and RedBoard work identically.
