SMD Chip Socket

Okay, so recently I’ve been looking at TI’s microprocessers and being the total newbie I am, I got a Stellaris assuming it would be a DIP chip. Then I found out it is a 100 pin SMD Chip. Now, I didn’t pay for the Stellaris (I got it from TI’s sample program), but I don’t want it to go to waste. I was thinking of making a breakout board for it, but there is where my question arises: Are the printers precise enough to draw lines about .5 mm wide? At least thats what the length should be (I’m not certain since the datasheet has a picture of a controller with less than 100 pins) The datasheet is here: http://www.luminarymicro.com/index.php? … Itemid=591 and the model is LM3S1150.

Or should I just cut my losses and get a TI LaunchPad?

300DPI printer draws line 1 inch long with 300 dots. So one dot is about 0.08mm.

You can get TQFP100 board here [http://www.futurlec.com/SMD_Adapters.shtml]. As far as i understand TQFP and LQFP are similar except of IC height.

And you always can create mess like this:

You can get smaller Stellaris parts in SOIC packages.
