Anyway, to business: I would like to work with a HMC5883L (compass) chip for a project, but since it is LCC-20 packaging, it is not the easiest to work with. Has anyone tried soldering pins to a LCC-20 chip? Just wondering how much heat the chip can take before it gets damaged. I know there are some LCC-20 to DIP adapters out there (couldn’t find any on sparkfun though), but it takes time to ship from online and I am the impatient type. I know there’s the HMC5883L breakout board- that’s another option if soldering doesn’t work out.
