I have an old Sparkfun TOL-10707 Soldering Station that has performed admirably over the years. Recently however, one of the PCB mounting screws broke loose and then lodged itself in just the right spot to short out the D3 diode (see photo).
I was hoping to get help identifying a suitable replacement diode. Any chance the old schematics are still around? Or any tips on calculating the required specs?

It does not even have a negative terminal marking. Does not look like any of the diodes here: https://www.sparkfun.com/search/results?term=diode
It doesn’t really show up in the photo, but in person you can barely see a negative stripe on the lower left end of the diode. The silkscreen corroborates this.
The other two similar looking diodes on the board appear to be 1N400x. I can’t quite read that last number on either of them, but it looks like the last number only indicates the maximum reverse voltage. I’m going to assume this is a similar diode and that the reverse breakdown isn’t important and try a 1N4004 in there. Lots of assumptions, but it already doesn’t work, so I don’t have much to lose. ¯_(ツ)_/¯
