SparkFun Breadboard Power Supply Stick - 5V/3.3V

I need a negative vcc terminal and with 2 cc output terminals, looks like this board will work.

As I understand it, if you take 2 9v batteries, connect pos of one to neg of other and to gnd, remaining leads will supply + and - vcc.

So, would it work to take left vcc to right gnd, and gnd on circuit, and left gnd would be + vcc and right vcc would - vcc?

Trying to power 5 lm1458n op amps for color organ, and 3 LEDs.

Or is there a better product, equally compact?

TIA

Hi Shea.

You’d need two Power supply sticks and two different 120 volt AC to 6-12 volt DC power packs to make a bipolar supply. It might be easier to just use two 5 volt power supplies connected the same way as you’d connect batteries though. (Less parts)

This picture is how you’d do it with two Breadboard power supply sticks:

I’d skip the sticks and just use [two of these. :-)](Wall Adapter Power Supply - 5VDC, 2A (Barrel Jack) - TOL-15312 - SparkFun Electronics)

Wow ts, thx for the diagram. But, I’m still thinking that both vcc/gnd terminals are separate, just like two batteries, my concept will work.

Basically, looks like two 5v batteries, on same board.

But, thx again for your trouble. I’m Just dying to see if it works. Lol
