Sparkfun ESP8266 Thing Dev UFL Antenna soldering

Hi there, I was following the instructions on how to setup a Sparkfun ESP8266 Thing Dev here: https://learn.sparkfun.com/tutorials/es … e-overview

But the instructions on how to connect a UFL antenna are too vague:

“If you need to connect a more sensitive antenna, or need to route outside an enclosure, a U.FL connector is also available on the board, but isn’t connected by default to the ESP8266’s antenna pin. To connect this antenna to the chip, you’ll need to swap the jumper by removing the solder blob and pushing it over to the other side.”

Would you be able to post a picture of the actual desoldering/soldering needed or annotate the picture above?

Thank you.

It’s the blob closest to the U.FL connector

That photo shows the blob after being moved; here is a photo of the unmodified one

You just get it hot with a soldering iron, wick away the current blob and place a new one connecting the tabs as in the photo you’ve posted
