Hi there,
I recently purchased a SparkFun JetBot AI Kit v2.1 Powered by Jetson Nano and I am wondering if I can use the actual Spakfun Image to add the NVIDIA Isaac SDK? I noticed some ROS mention on the some of the files, would this be an issue with Isaac? what are the changes required to get Sparkfun-jetpack4.3 and Isaac all integrated?
if Isaac does not work can ROS be an alternative?
I appreciative the insight.
This isn’t something that we have tried or verified. Unfortunately, we only handle a very minimal amount of the software for the Jetson Nano. This would be a better question for Nvidia. However, this is a great post for the community to see and give feedback if possible.
Thank you and go forth pioneering!
To follow up with some technical stuff on our image:
- Our image includes minor changes to the original image including: software changes to run our OLED and motor driver hardware, installed SparkFun Qwiic python packages, install the driver for the WiFi adapter, install [[jetbot_ros](https://github.com/dusty-nv/jetbot_ros), and install [[greengrass](https://aws.amazon.com/greengrass/). We also pre-download the engine and model for Nvidia's examples.
- For anything related to the Isaac SDK, you should reach out to NVIDIA.
- I don't know how the Isaac SDK operates, so I won't be aware of any conflicts. The primary background services are the python code for the OLED to display information and the Jupyter server; almost everything else operates as the examples or software runs.
- You can find our software changes, for our hardware, in our fork of the [[jetbot folder](https://github.com/sparkfun/jetbot). This is where the background services are created; however, the services shouldn't be any different from the normal image.
- You will need to go to the NVIDIA forum for assistance installing the Isaac SDK. Unfortunately, we don't have any experience with that.
