I have several SparkFun Pro nRF52840 units that I am trying to set up on a Windows 7 Work Laptop. I have the latest Arduino IDE (1.8.12) installed and followed all the setup recommendations on the SparkFun web sit for this device. When I plug in the board to the laptop it does not recognize the board. Under Device Manager , Other devices I get “Bluefruit Serial” with a warning. Under its properties, it states that the device drive is not installed. I have done several searches on line and on this forum but could not find the solution. I have tried down loading and installing the Bluefruit drivers from Adafruit but that did not work. I tried to manually find the correct drive but could not. Is there a way to get Windows 7 to recognize this device?
Please note I have been able to successfully set up this unit on my personal Windows 10 laptop and have successfully programmed the board with Blinky Button BLE Example Code after fixing the Serial1 issue in the variant.h file.
