SparkFun Pulse Oximeter and Heart Rate Sensor - MAX30101 & MAX32664 (Qwiic) interface voltage

Hello,

I have a question about the SparkFun Pulse Oximeter and Heart Rate Sensor - MAX30101 & MAX32664 (Qwiic). According to MAX32664 the max voltage that should be used in the digital io is VDD+0.3v. In this case rhe VDD is 1.8V but the I2C is using 3.3V. Wont this damage rhe device or create some extra current drain?
