I’ve recently purchased a couple of RTK2 modules and have a base and rover setup from your amazing tutorial. I’m having trouble feeding the correction data into my Trimble CFX-750 monitor. It has RS232 RX and TX in a 12 pin plug. Just today I’ve wondered if I need a UART to RS232 converter between the monitor and RTK2 module. I have tried adding the converter but am still having no luck. Any ideas?
Yes, you’ll need to convert the 3.3V TTL to -/+12V RS232. Make sure TX of the ZED goes to the RX pin on the Trimble. Then verify both are speaking the same baud rate speed. I think the ZED defaults to 38400 on UART1 but can be configured to a variety of speed.
I have the converter between the two, TX/RX pins are correct, baud rate is set at 57600 on both ZED and Trimble and still nothing. All settings on base and rover are configured the same as the tutorial. I’ve read that maybe the Trimble expects message 1008 and without it wont even recognize any messages. I’m trying to inject it using strsvr but still no luck.
Bummer, but that makes sense. The ZED-F9x doesn’t support that RTCM message. Sorry the injection method isn’t working either!
I’d try breaking this down into two separate problems - divide and conquer.

Use a SparkFun RTK module and a TTL-RS232 converter to feed a RS232 port on a computer and monitor it with a terminal app (or RTKLIB). Make sure it’s all working. If you’re using strsvr maybe you’ve already done this?

Get the CFX-750 working in RTK mode using an NTRIP data feed from a CORS station.
Then figure out what’s missing from the ZED (RTCM 1008?) and how to supply it.

Thank you, good suggestion. I have done exactly what you said in the first part and I know I’m not receiving 1008. I have an arduino injecting 1008 after 1005 but when I monitor the feed on SNIP it don’t show either message. I’ve tried to inject with strsvr with the no 1008 message either. I don’t have the capability of connecting to a CORS station so that’s not an option. I do have a neighbor that has a Trimble RTK base that he said he’d let me play with so my plan is to see what messages it outputs and go from there. My work station is the corner of my bedroom floor with two coax cables going out my window to my roof for antennas. If my wife don’t throw it all out the window hopefully I can get this figured out. Also, did you happen to read this article about using SNIP to provide MT1008 to older Trimble equipment when it is missing from the RTCM stream from the base?
