Stupid Question

I have a FTDI usb cable with 6 pins but my connector has 4 pins

Ground and 5 volts are simple I am not sure which colors to discardcan some one help me?

Without some more info (like what the 4 pin connector is on), I’d guess TXD and RXD… Depending on how things are labeled, they may need to be crossed (ie TXD on the cable to RXD on the board and vice versa)

The connector is on a Laser Tag Gun

I tried cross connecting them without success
