Sunny Buddy Modification

Hi,

I am working on prototypes utilizing the Sunny Buddy board design. Would it be possible to modify the board to work with a Lead Acid battery? If so, what changes would need to be made?

Thanks

Hi kajuskav,

While the LT3652 IC can technically be set to have a float voltage of up to 14.4V and is compatible with SLA battery chemistries, the Sunny Buddy’s float circuit is set to charge single-cell Lithium-Ion batteries and we cannot help with customizing this circuit as it requires modifying the hardware on the board with new resistors. I would recommend reviewing the [LT3652 Datasheet and the [Sunny Buddy Schematic to figure out how you would modify the circuit to work with a Lead Acid battery.](https://cdn.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Prototyping/SunnyBuddy-v13a.pdf)](https://cdn.sparkfun.com/datasheets/Prototyping/LT3652.pdf)
