I just connect a mini load cell TAL221 (SEN-14727) to a HX711. I got it to work with an Arduino, but after readjusting the position of the cell the first cable broke directly on the load cell. While I was inspecting the cellt, two more cables broke. I did not apply any unreasonable pull on the cable and, therefore, I assume that the cables were halfway broken before. I would just resolder it, but there seems to be no reasonable way to do so unless one removes the white insulation material.
At the least, I am very unhappy with this product and there was no warning that these cable break immediately. I have a second one, but now I fear that one will have the same problem. What do you suggest?
Hi EL.
PM me your SparkFun order or invoice number and we can help!
Chris
Hi el,
I didn’t get an attachment. If you can just tell me what the order number is, I can get you taken care of.
The Sparkfun order / invoice number was 5613709.

OK, so your order is from early June and too old to replace.
I’ll give you a store credit for one SEN-14727 and that may take a few days to appear on your account. (Possibly early next week as a blizzard is forecast to arrive this evening and we’re closed Thursday and Friday.) Your ticket number for the store credit is RMA-21748.
For the other sensor, if you’re worried about the wires, you might try putting some hot glue or silicone adhesive on top of the area where the wires exit the sensor to hold them in place.
