This sensor should be banned from Sparkfun

I’m talking about the KR Sense Current and Voltage Sensor. I brought 3 of these sensors recently (90A variant) and all of them had the same issue:

The current reading (Analog I_out) would always show 0. I tried 5 Amps of max current but it still was 0.

The voltage reading (V_out) is fine. However, the I_out does not output any voltage even with voltmeters. I tried to measure the voltage drop across the shunt resistor and found the voltage to be 0V.

I’m certain there’s nothing wrong with my wiring. Since the same problem exists for all 3 of the sensors, I do believe that the sensor is the problem.

I think faulty products like this should not be on Sparkfun. Another user also had the same issue as with me: KR Sense Current and Voltage Sensor - 90A Not Working as Expected

I urge Sparkfun to take this matter into consideration.

Like that other thread notes, the 90A current sensor has bad linearity for the bottom end of the spec https://cdn.sparkfun.com/assets/c/3/1/f/e/Current_to_Voltage_90A.png …feed it 6-20A minimum at considerable voltage https://cdn.sparkfun.com/assets/6/7/3/4/f/Voltage_to_Voltage_90A.png and see if it is still reading 0…

There are a few people that made comments on the product page as well KR Sense Current and Voltage Sensor - 90A - SEN-16408 - SparkFun Electronics
