I have been using a Sparkfun RTK express kit as a permanent base on the roof of my house for more than six months. Everything worked fine until two weeks ago. I checked everything, but never thought that rainwater could get into the TOP106 antenna!
I need to drain the water and clean the TOP106 antenna. Any guidance?
Using a small screwdriver, carefully open the antenna casing. carefully tilt the antenna to let any accumulated water drain out. Use a soft, lint-free cloth or microfiber cloth to gently pat dry the interior of the antenna. Place the antenna in a dry, warm place for at least 24 hours. Alternatively, you can place silica gel packets or a desiccant inside the casing to help absorb any remaining moisture. If you notice any corrosion or dirt on the contacts, you can gently clean them with isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth or cotton swab. Once the antenna is completely dry and clean, carefully reassemble the casing.
