Touch Display and Raspberry Pi 5

I just received a Raspberry Pi 5 and a Raspberry Touch Display. The documentation says that the display is compatible with all Raspberry Pi’s from 1 up. However the ribbon cable included with the touch display is not compatible with the Raspberry board. The connector on the Raspberry board is for a much finer pitch cable.

Am I expected to order Raspberry Pi 5 Display Cable - 200mm - PRT-23683 - SparkFun Electronics ? The text on that page says

Note: The display cable should not be used with a display, and vice versa. We have both cables available. The Raspberry Pi brand cameras and displays will still come with the old style cable until further notice.

In short: yes
The situation is similar for certain Pi Zero models

Apologies for the typo in the product description, we’ll get that fixed

I got the cable and a Raspberry power supply, hooked everything up according to instructions. No display activity: not even a backlight. The LED on the RPI5 comes on steady.

Should the cable have a twist in it?
