Transmitting video to a computer suggestion

I have a project at work that I need to come up with some ideas on how to accomplish it. I have to take a video camcorder and transmit the video wirelessly to a computer so that I can broadcast it over the internet. I can’t use a wireless IP camera because they do not support auto focusing.

So I need some way to send the video at a very good quality (high bandwidth) to a video server of some type or a computer which would act as a video server over the internet with proper software. I tried to find camcorders that could stream HDMI video using Bluetooth or UWB transmission but came up empty handed. Seems there are a couple camcorders out there one was a sony(using bluetooth) but think they stopped making that model and there was another one by another manufacture but it referred to it as a protype model and not manufactured yet. Any ideas or suggestions on what would be a good platform to do this with? Bluetooth, Zigbee, Wifi, nordic, others? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Brian

auto-focus is commonplace in pro quality IP cameras from Axis and others.

another option is to buy a low cost MPEG encoder (NTSC/PAL in, IP video out). Lots of these on the market. Then use whatever camera. You hook the RJ45 ethernet to a WiFi bridge to make it wireless. Or select an mpeg encoder that has built-in WiFi. There are a few of these on the market.
