The Tsunami wav trigger irratically plays samples glitchy and disorted for a couple of second after repeated triggering from a sequencer or using the onboard triggers. This happens after 15 to 25 triggers randomly on a single sample or different samples.
It sounds lile the boards has hung for a fnew seconds as the sound glitches and then returns to normal play back.
This happens to both my tsunami boards and both my wav triggers as well. All the boards have been updated with the latest firmware with the appropriate sd cards and formats. Samples are used from the sparkfun and robertsonics website.
Certainly not normal behavior. The fact that it’s happening with both Tsunamis would lead one to suspect something other than the Tsunami. How are you powering it? How are you listening to it? What is connected to the Tsunami?
Do you have enough of a variety of microSD cards to see if the problem changes when you use a different type of card?
If possible, please try a minimal setup with just a 5V USB power adaptor, headphones and shorting the trigger inputs. Nothing else connected.
You might be right. Its not only hapoening on both tsunani but also the wav trigger boards.
It happens with basic ground shorting as well as with 1.5volt triggers. Triggers are generated by the beat step pro and then voltage divided down to 1.5
I also just ground short the board. Even then by the 15 to 25 trigger the sample glitches like as if its out of memory.
Please suggest me an ideal sd card. Perhaps the cards have an issue.
You did not mention how you are powering the Tsunami and what you are connecting the audio output to. Did you try my suggestion of just using a 5V USB power adaptor and headphones with nothing else connected?
I can’t suggest a particular card as I haven’t been actively testing any recently and inventory changes often. The most important observation is to see if a different type of card causes the symptoms to change. Are all of your cards the brand and model or do you have a variety?
Sorry, i missed that part of the question. The tsunami is powered by a 5volt mobile charger, 2ampere i believe. I have also tried powering it via the laptop and a usb cable. I have used headphone but havent tried to simulate the error using headphones. I will try that.
Is there a way for me to share a video clip of the sound glitch with you via email. A
Hi, were you able to narrow down the potential cause of this problem? I am having a similar issue.
Seemingly at random, the Tsunami Wav trigger will ‘glitch’ for about a second: the green light rapidly blinks, triggering multiple samples repeatedly, and then returns to normal functioning.
This occurs while powered by 5v usb, using headphones and with the provided WAV samples. There must be some interference occurring at some point, but I am not sure how to narrow down where exactly it is occurring or how to remedy.
