Hi, i just reiceived 2 xbee pro 50mW w/wire antena and two usb breakboards…
what i want to do is a cable replacement between 2 pc’s…
so i connect 1 xbee-usb to desktop and 1 xbee-usb to laptop.
both my pc’s can communicate with the modules ussing the X-CTU program.
but when i try to use terminal to sent a message nothing happens…
everything is in default.
i also try to make one module coordinator and the other end-device but still nothing…
it suppose to work out of the box but i wasted allready a hole day searching the internet for a sollution… and still…
pls help…
Use the Modem Configuration tab - click the Read button to display the configuration. Change each as follows–
UNIT 1 UNIT 2
ID 234 234
MY 1 2
DL 2 1
then click Write.
Open the X-CTU Terminal window for each and they should be talking.
You can make one zigbee router/end device AT, Version 1220 and the
other zigbee coordinator AT, Verison 1020 if you want.
Let me know how you do.
Thanks.

Are you intending to use the Wireless Serial Port extension firmware, rather than ZNet for meshing?

Digi has several firmware packages. I think you can download them all. One enables cable replacement == wireless serial port extension. If you cannot find it on their web site’s downloads, email/call tech support.
If you have not already, click the Download new versions button.
Take care in what firmware you attempt to Write when the check box Always update firmware is checked as you can disable the module.
Look on the back of the module and post the full part number - X what?

from the download ftp server i’m lost… too many firmwares…
it seems after some reasearch on digi to getting something…
although a firmware that does exactly what i want is better…
can you provide me a link or should i conntact tech support…?
