I am having trouble updating my Neo M9N module with U-center app. Is there a reset or a way to start over with a generic setup?
Sorry the question is a bit incoherent.. can you provide some more context.
What have you done to it?
What do you want to do?
What version of uCenter are you using?
You want to Upgrade the Firmware?
You want to Reset to Defaults?
There’s a SAFEBOOT pin on the module, and -SAFE line on the SparkFun board, with this pulled low, I think it should allow connectivity to the UART at 9600 baud.
The UBX-CFG-CFG command can be used to reset to defaults. Which should be 38400 baud on the UART, with NMEA output.
Answers: 1)what I have done to the module is to try to set it up. 2) I want to setup the module so I can work with it. 3) U-center V22.07 4) I tried to upgrade but no change. 5) I tried the reset but no change.
I have other GPS modules. The module that is working for me is your SAM M8Q.
I can setup it up with a USB to TTL adapter this way.
- connect 3 volts on adapter to the 3v3 pin on the module. 2) connect the gnd on adapter to gnd on module. 3) connect Tx no adapter to the Rx on the module. 4)
connect Rx on adapter to the Tx on the module. 5) install u-center app. 6) Connect SAM M8Q module through the adapter to the USB port on computer. 7) Open receiver option on u-center and set baud to 9600 and select the correct port number. NOTE: just by performing the above procedure I can open a packet console and see data scrolling through the window ( It keeps scrolling with GPS data.
I never see the scrolling with the M9N module but the blue led does blink but again no output GPS data. HELP
You have this board, or something else?
The USB should work independent of baud rate.
The UART1 RX/TX defaults to 38400 baud.
The board has a 5V regulator, will run the NEO at 3.3V
Get a scope on the TX pin
As far as I know, you can reset your u-blox NEO-M9N module to factory defaults using u-center.
